Bissell Proheat Reviewed + A Great Deal

We got the ProHeat delivered to us in the mail and immediately started unpacking it. One of the true tests of these types of carpet cleaners is… Can you actually get it out of the box, and assemble it without having a nervous breakdown, or having to call your local “handy person.”

While this wasn’t the *easiest* assembly job we’ve ever undertaken, it was pretty darn simple to put together, but did take us about 10 minutes all said and done. But the good news is that you shouldn’t ever have to do that again.

As we’ve mentioned before we have two little “puppies” (they’re actually 1 year old and 3 year old dogs, but we like to call them puppies )

Anyhow, about 3 months ago they knocked over a full mug of really strong coffee with about 3-4 ounces of heavy cream in it… Ouch. That stain has never completely gone away, so what a perfect test subject for the Bissell ProHeat right?

So we plugged it in (it’s got a very nice and long cord which is  a huge plus) and we fired it up.

Like all carpet cleaners, it’s a bit of a slow process… Basically, you push the cleaner forward while pushing the trigger.  You move slowly, then pull back on the machine with the trigger depressed. A few passes more removes the water/moisture.

But when we were done with it, we noticed a difference immediately, that being said, sometimes carpets look cleaner when they’re a little wet. So we decided to sleep on it and not clean the rest of the carpet, because we were tired. And we wanted to see what that spot looked like once it was dry.

When we woke up, not only was the spot dry, but we could see a bit of an outline of where we had cleaned vs where we didn’t. The little rectangle area around the *former* stain, was lighter and cleaner than the carpet around it. Wow!

I thought we had pretty clean carpets, but I guess not as clean as they could have been with the ProHeat.

All in all, this is a beast of a carpet cleaner for literally 25% of the price tag (if you go through Amazon.com)
